How to convert SATS to BTC

Enter a Satoshis amount above. The calculator translates it through the relevant public reference and displays an indicative amount in Bitcoin. You can reverse the direction without leaving the page.

One satoshi is 0.00000001 BTC. This unit conversion does not depend on an exchange or fiat price.

A fixed Bitcoin denomination

This conversion uses the protocol unit relationship only: one BTC equals 100,000,000 sats. No exchange, order book, fiat rate or stablecoin is needed, so the result changes only when the entered amount changes.

About Satoshis

A satoshi, commonly shortened to sat, is the smallest standard Bitcoin unit. One sat equals 0.00000001 BTC and 100,000,000 sats equal one BTC.

Sats make small payments, Lightning invoices and fee amounts easier to read without writing many leading zeros.

About Bitcoin

Bitcoin is the native unit of the Bitcoin network. One BTC can be divided into 100,000,000 satoshis, and control depends on the keys required to spend its transaction outputs.

BTC is used to measure bitcoin balances, transaction outputs, fees and market prices. The protocol's issuance schedule is separate from the exchange rate shown by a venue.

When this conversion is useful

  • Reading lightning invoices and small payments
  • Checking wallet balances without leading zeros
  • Learning bitcoin's fixed unit structure

The page answers a unit question only. It cannot decide whether either asset, venue, custody method or transaction is suitable for a reader.

Risks the number does not show

SATS: A sat is a denomination, not a different token. Anyone offering a separate 'satoshi coin' may be using confusing or misleading language.

BTC: BTC has no central price and can move sharply. A conversion says nothing about custody, transaction finality, taxes or whether a purchase suits a reader.

Spread, order-book depth, slippage, funding charges, withdrawal fees and taxes remain outside the calculation.

Can I trade using this converter?

No. Bitcoin.now is informational only and does not accept orders, connect accounts or provide executable quotes.

Why might another platform show a different result?

Venues have separate order books. Spread, liquidity, fees, slippage and timing can all produce a different executable value.

How to write satoshis as BTC

This direction starts with a whole satoshi count and writes the same bitcoin amount with a decimal. It helps when a service asks for BTC while a wallet or invoice displays sats.

01

Start with the complete sat count

Keep every digit and remove display commas before doing the division. Ten thousand sats is 10000 in the calculation.

02

Divide by 100 million

Move the decimal point eight places to the left. For example, 250,000 sats becomes 0.0025 BTC.

03

Keep leading zeros visible

Leading zeros show scale. They do not make the balance a different token or change who controls the bitcoin.
