How to convert BTC to USDT
Enter a Bitcoin amount above. The calculator translates it through the relevant public reference and displays an indicative amount in Tether. You can reverse the direction without leaving the page.
USDT targets the U.S. dollar but is a stablecoin, not a bank-account U.S. dollar. This page keeps that distinction visible.
The BTC/USDT stablecoin path
This pair uses an explicitly labelled USDT market. Tether targets the dollar, but Bitcoin.now keeps the stablecoin leg visible because issuer, redemption and market conditions can make BTC/USDT differ from a direct BTC/USD trade.
About Bitcoin
Bitcoin is the native unit of the Bitcoin network. One BTC can be divided into 100,000,000 satoshis, and control depends on the keys required to spend its transaction outputs.
BTC is used to measure bitcoin balances, transaction outputs, fees and market prices. The protocol's issuance schedule is separate from the exchange rate shown by a venue.
About Tether
Tether, or USDT, is a privately issued stablecoin designed to track the U.S. dollar across supported blockchains. It is not a cash dollar or a bank deposit.
USDT is widely used as a quote asset on crypto exchanges, especially for markets that lack a direct fiat pair.
When this conversion is useful
- Comparing two volatile crypto units
- Checking how a cross rate changes over time
- Understanding which quote asset a market actually uses
The page answers a unit question only. It cannot decide whether either asset, venue, custody method or transaction is suitable for a reader.
Risks the number does not show
BTC: BTC has no central price and can move sharply. A conversion says nothing about custody, transaction finality, taxes or whether a purchase suits a reader.
USDT: USDT adds issuer, reserve, redemption, network and token-contract risks. Its market value can also move away from one dollar.
Spread, order-book depth, slippage, funding charges, withdrawal fees and taxes remain outside the calculation.
