Bitcoin.now privacy policy: data, tools, cookies and advertising

What Bitcoin.now receives when you visit, how read-only tools handle inputs, and which outside services may process browser data.

Short summary

At a glance

  • Bitcoin.now does not provide user accounts, deposits, trading, custody, or wallet connections.
  • Public pages use server logs and Clicky analytics; tool inputs are limited to the function described beside each form.
  • If Google advertising is enabled, this policy explains advertising cookies and links to Google’s privacy controls.

How information is handled

Information received with a normal visit

Like most websites, Bitcoin.now and its hosting infrastructure receive technical request information needed to deliver and protect a page. This can include an IP address, browser and device details, requested URL, referring page, response status, and time of the request. Security and operational systems may use these records to diagnose errors, limit abuse, and keep the service available.

Bitcoin.now does not offer a public user account system. The site does not ask readers to create a profile, provide a legal name, deposit money, connect an exchange, or connect a wallet in order to read guides or use the public calculators.

How calculator and tool inputs are handled

Each tool states what it accepts and why. Unit amounts, dates, fee rates, hardware assumptions, and comparison choices are used to produce the requested result. Some calculations run in the browser. Others use a Bitcoin.now endpoint or request public market or network data needed for the calculation.

A transaction decoder may send a public transaction ID for a read-only chain lookup. The address checker sends an address only for format and checksum validation and does not request a balance. Never enter a seed phrase, private key, exchange password, identity document, or other secret into any Bitcoin.now tool.

  • No tool signs or broadcasts a transaction.
  • No tool can prove that a person owns an address or transaction.
  • Shared-result URLs and screenshots should be reviewed before they are sent to another person.

Analytics

Public, non-embedded pages currently load Clicky analytics. Clicky may receive browser, device, referral, and page-visit information and may use cookies or similar browser storage under its own terms. Analytics helps identify broken pages and understand which public resources are used.

A browser can block analytics scripts, clear site data, or use privacy controls provided by the browser. Blocking analytics does not prevent access to the site’s core written content, though scripts needed by interactive calculators must remain available for those tools to work.

Google services and advertising

Bitcoin.now links to Google’s Preferred Source controls and may load Google publisher components used for that feature. Choosing the control takes the reader to Google, where Google’s own privacy terms apply.

If Google AdSense or another Google advertising product is enabled, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve and measure ads based on a visit to Bitcoin.now or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads and measure their performance. Readers can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings.

Advertising does not change the editorial standard. An advertiser cannot buy a ranking, rewrite a protocol fact, remove a material limitation, or turn a sponsored message into independent reporting.

Cookies and browser storage

Bitcoin.now may use a security cookie for cross-site request forgery protection when a browser submits data to a protected endpoint. Interface features can also use browser storage to remember a local preference, such as whether a panel was dismissed. Analytics and future advertising providers may set their own cookies as described above.

Browser settings can display, block, or remove cookies and local storage. Blocking all storage may cause a preference to reset and can interfere with some security or interactive behavior. Written guides remain available without a public account cookie.

External sources and links

Source links can lead to exchanges, regulators, repositories, companies, publications, and data providers. Those destinations receive a normal browser request when opened and apply their own privacy and security practices. Bitcoin.now does not control their later content or data handling.

Check the destination domain before opening a link or downloading software. A source link supports verification; it is not a request to create an account, provide a wallet secret, or make a payment.

Children, financial information and sensitive data

Bitcoin.now is a general educational publication and is not designed to collect personal information from children. The site does not provide a wallet, exchange account, credit product, tax filing service, or identity-verification flow.

Do not send recovery material, account credentials, government identification, full financial records, or another person’s private data through a correction or security report. A report should identify the public URL, issue, and evidence without including secrets.

Questions and policy changes

Privacy or security questions can be sent to [email protected]. A correction to published content can also follow the corrections policy. Include the affected public URL and enough detail to investigate, but do not include wallet secrets or account passwords.

This policy may be updated when site functionality, analytics, advertising, legal requirements, or providers change. Material changes should be reflected in the page’s review date rather than hidden in unrelated site updates.
