ETF shares provide price exposure through a security. They do not give the shareholder a private key or the ability to spend the fund’s bitcoin.

Compare the wrapper, not only the ticker

Two funds can follow the same asset yet produce different shareholder outcomes because of sponsor fees, trading spread, share liquidity, custody arrangements, securities lending policy, tax treatment and tracking difference.

Flows are not the same as price

Net creations and redemptions describe changes in fund shares. Bitcoin’s market price is formed across many venues worldwide. A flow table alone cannot prove why price moved.

Prospectus reading checklist

Annual sponsor fee and any temporary waiver.
Named custodian and key-control disclosures.
Benchmark methodology and valuation time.

Not self-custody

A fund may be convenient inside a brokerage account, but it has different control, counterparty and market-hour properties from bitcoin held with a key the owner controls.

Does an ETF shareholder own spendable bitcoin?

The shareholder owns a security issued by a trust. The fund's custodian controls underlying bitcoin under the product documents; the shareholder normally cannot withdraw those coins.

Are ETF inflows the same as new Bitcoin demand?

Share creations and redemptions are useful fund measures, but interpreting them requires care. Secondary trading, hedging, seed capital and timing can complicate a simple flow narrative.

Why link to issuer pages?

Fees, waivers, holdings and risk language can change. Primary sponsor documents and SEC filings are the best place to confirm the current terms before relying on a comparison.

Track spot Bitcoin ETFs from filings, not headlines

The tracker lists U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded products with their holdings, flows, fees and share prices. Each figure has a filing or an issuer disclosure behind it, so a claim about flows can be checked against its source.

Flows are the daily change in coins held

Issuers publish holdings each business day; the difference from the previous day is the net flow, reported in BTC and at the day's price in dollars. Large flows move sentiment, which is why they are worth verifying rather than repeating.

Compare the coin change, not only the dollar figure, when the price moved.
A settlement lag means a day's trading can appear in the next day's holdings.
Sum across funds before calling a day an inflow or outflow.

Fees compound; premiums come and go

The expense ratio is deducted from the fund every day, so a 0.25 % fee costs about 2.5 % of holdings over a decade. Premiums and discounts to net asset value are usually small for large funds but widen on volatile days.

Check the prospectus for fee waivers and their end dates.
Compare share price with NAV before trading near the close.
Custody arrangements are disclosed in the same filings.
